Any research interventions that are subsequently proven effective, or any knowledge that is generated from your research, should eventually benefit former research subjects and their communities. For example, investigational drugs that become licensed should be made available and affordable to the initial research population. (1,8)
If this is not possible, it may not be fair to conduct your research on this population in the first place.
