Budget

This is required for all research studies.

A research budget should cover every step of your study and take into account your entire sample size, including but not limited to the costs of: (where applicable) (1)

  • Equipment, materials and stationery
  • Services (e.g. language translation, secure storage of research data)
  • Travel
  • Wages for team members
  • Incentives / compensations for subjects
  • Insurance and indemnity

All studies should have sufficient funding.

Examples of incentive for research subjects include gift cards, vouchers, cash, etc. Subjects can be reimbursed or compensated for travel and inconvenience during research, but these should be prorated (i.e. proportional to the amount of travel and inconvenience).

Wages for researcher team members should be fair and adequate. (2)
