Research team profile

This is required for all research studies.

A research team should include everyone who is involved in the conduct of a study – principle investigator, co-investigators, research assistants, collaborators, etc.

A team profile should contain: (Click on each tab for further elaboration)

1. A description of everyone’s duties / responsibilities

All research team members should be clear about their expected roles and responsibilities.

2. Their curriculum vitae (CV)

A curriculum vitae provides evidence that a team member is qualified and capable of performing his / her tasks properly.

3. Their conflict of interests declaration

Conflict of interests (COI) occurs when someone has personal interests (whether financial or non-financial) that could potentially impede one’s ability to perform his / her current research duties responsibly.

To declare a COI is to be transparent about one’s private interests and to allow the potential impact of such interests to be scrutinised, monitored and minimised.

You will learn more about COIs in Module 7: Conflicts of interests.
